Initiation Mask
2008
This mask emerged from the familiar moment when architects peek into models, which, stuck to the face, are like masks. We can imagine a ritual by which architects wear a “moskel” (mask-model) in the image of the respective buildings for which they are known and through which they see the world.
This prototype was deliberately built by mixing anthropomorphic elements of initiation masks and architectural elements. Like a building to be worn on one’s head.
