Artave/CCM music school is set in the city’s heart of Vila Nova de Famalicão and occupies part of an office building from the seventies. Since its foundation, the school has been growing, successively acquiring the building area. Groups of dispersed rooms in distinct floors and, more recently, a store that gives access to the street, to be transformed into a performance hall.

Until now, the school’s main entrance was on the side and, besides the sound of music coming from the windows, its existence behind those walls was only marked by a small plaque. Since the space needs refurbishment, the client requires unity and clarification. It is necessary to review the functional logic, to extend some spaces and, above all, to create a strong identity that allows the school to stand out from other services operating in the building.
